Artist Statement

I long for a world that is idyllic. Seeking calm in the midst of a storm and dancing in the stillness of a moment suspended in time. Witnessing nature’s graceful, sensual curves and catching a glimpse of where beauty resides. Finding courage to be open and vulnerable, but also unbreakable. I want to linger for a bit on the edge of the impossible.

For the greater part of my life, I have felt that accessing a beautiful and enchanted vision of reality was an indulgence, a privilege, a lie, and something I needed to earn the right to. I have discovered that for me it is in fact a necessity, a moment of respite, a source of inspiration and strength to confront the world. It helps me maintain a sense of calm, sanity and hope. Accessing this parallel world that is spectacular, beautiful, serene and eternal is my way of finding pleasure rather than escaping from pain. Uncovering its mysteries makes life feel bearable, worthwhile, divine.
